Arthur The Heroic Pet Cat Sacrifices Life To Protect Two Children From Deadly Snake Bite

A domestic cat in Queensland, Australia is being hailed as a “four-legged hero” as he heroically saved two kids from a deadly snake bite. Once again, this little hero has reminded us that not all heroes wear capes.

Animal Emergency Service in Australia posted about this heroic act of a normal cat on their Facebook page. According to them, Arthur the cat was following his two fellow little humans around their yard when he noticed the inciting danger. The Eastern brown snake who slithered close to them is one of the country’s top 10 highly venomous snakes.

Arthur’s instincts kicked in to protect his two friends. He jumped at the snake and eventually killing it. Unfortunately, during the gruesome fight between one fighting to save two lives and another fighting to take three, Arthur was bitten by the snake. Arthur collapsed but regained consciousness quickly before his owners noticed.

Everyone was too busy getting the two children out of the yard that it is no surprise that none noticed the bite on their kids’ savior.

The critical incident happened the next morning. Arthur collapsed again but didn’t regain consciousness like last time. His hoomans rushed him to the hospital but it was too late. Animal Emergency Service wrote, “Unfortunately, Arthur’s symptoms were too severe to recover. It was with the heaviest of hearts his owners had to leave Arthur after he gained his angel wings.”

Australia Geographic described this species of snakes as, “Eastern brown snakes, together with other browns, are responsible for more deaths every year in Australia than any other group of snakes. Not only is their venom ranked as the second most toxic of any land snake in the world (based on tests on mice), they thrive in populated areas, particularly on farms in rural areas with mice.”

Arthur was much loved by the Tanahwa Team as he had already visited them a couple of times from engaging in mischievous acts.

“His family, understandably devastated, remember him fondly and are forever grateful he saved the children’s lives.”

Rest in peace, Arthur. You will be remembered as a hero!

Though such heroes often go unnoticed, they are the most worthy of remembering. They have no superpowers, can’t climb walls, run at incredible speed, or time travel. All they do is put others’ lives before their own.
