Baby owls sleep with their heads face down, and they have the most reasonable excuse. Their heads are too heavy! While napping, most baby owls lay on their bellies and sometimes turn their head to the side. This facedown sleeping position is not much famous among grownup owls as their bodies can hold up the weight of their heads absolutely fine.

Mark Rees, a journalist, developed quite the enthusiasm in how owls sleep and shared a picture of an owl napping like a human being who just got back from a night of heavy drinking. The owl was sleeping facedown on its belly and it was simply adorable. A super-adorable photo he posted went viral on Twitter garnering over 119K likes.

Mika McKinnon agreed with Rees’s statement and awarded baby owls and human toddlers as the “Champions of the Awkward Nap.”

The irresistible birds quickly took over other platforms such as Facebook, Imgur, and Reddit by putting in no effort at all other than posting for a photo unconsciously while sleeping.

These baby owls are just as chaotic and dramatic as hyperactive human toddlers when they are awake. Just as same, they are also adorable.
