This Mexican Girl hasn’t even spent a decade on this planet, but she has very high IQ (Intelligence Qiotient) score of 162, which slightly higher than two most renowned scientists, Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking.
Adhara Pérez, the wonder girl, is only nine-years-old, but her genius is exceeds that of many. Now aged nine, she is working on two degrees: one in systems engineering at Universidad CNCI and the other in industrial engineering in mathematics at UNITEC, both in Mexico. Despite her genius, things hasn’t been easy for her thus far. She was only three years old when she was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome.
Asperger’s syndrome is a developmental disorder in the autism spectrum that affects communication, social skills, speech and nonverbal communication. It can also result in repetitive behaviour patterns and obsessive interests. For this reason, kids with Asperger’s might develop extremely specific capabilities where they’ll focus their entire attention on. However, those with the syndrome aren’t well accepted by everyone.
It was the same for Adhara as well. Kids at her school bullied and mocked her for being different. Even her teachers were convinced that the girl had no future. All of this was depressing for Adhara. When everyone turned on her, it was only her mother, Nallely Sanchez, that always believed in her. She took her to a neuropsychiatric therapy and that is where she became aware of her daughter’s exceptional IQ. This paved the path for her to speed up her education. She finished elementary school by the age of five, breezed through middle school within just an year, and high school in the next two.
She even wrote a book in her mothertongue titled “Don’t Give Up” enlosing all her experiences.
Her mother is now planning to take her daughter to the United States which is why Adhara is presently working on learning English. She has been offered a place to study astronomy at the University of Arizona, her dream school. With the aim in mind to become a NASA astronaut, she is ready to take on the new adventure.
